Happy 10th Anniversary!!

Well, the day is finally here, our 10th anniversary. Feels like it has gone by SO fast and yet so many wonderful memories. I thought I would recap some highlights of our marriage thus far. I have also posted a few fun pictures- man do we look young!

Jade and I met in college and started dating in November of '97. After many relationships for the both of us, we knew this one was it!! We got married in Jan. of '99 and then moved in March of '99 to Wichita, Kansas. Jade got his first aviation job outside of college at Bombardier Learjet Inc. There we purchased our first two homes and happily welcomed Emily into our family in August of 2003, after 2 LONG years of trying! Big miracle and we still feel SO blessed :)

September of 2006 we packed our bags and headed to Vancouver, Wa. Jade got recruited for another aviation job and we were thrilled to be moving West again. Man was that a trip with a preschooler and two cats! Thanks to Jade's dad and my parents we managed the trip in one piece with not too many things broken. We purchased our 3rd home in May of 2007. Brayden blessed us with his presence in April of 2008- cute little red headed boy with such a fun spirit and a COMPLETE shock!!

During this time I have had various jobs both in social services and child care. I keep going back and forth because I can't decide which I like more. Now I stay at home and that's a job and a half!! We have both grown so much in the past 10 years and we are looking forward to MANY MANY more!

Fun Pictures of the Kids

Not much has been happening to blog about lately so I thought I'd take updated pictures of the kids to post. They turned out cute and it's amazing how fast they grow! Brayden is EVERYWHERE and clingy and needy as any 9 month old would be. He's only happy when he's exploring and getting into things he shouldn't be, or when I hold him. Emily loves to wear skirts now WITH tights and loves to show off her pretty necklace that great aunt Myrna gave her. So, here you go!

Brayden is 9 months!

I can't believe how fast my baby is growing up! I'd include a picture but I posted one a couple of days ago. I thought it would be fun to update everyone on fun facts and developmental info, so here it goes...
- his favorite word is "da-da" and he's NOWHERE close to ma-ma( boo-hoo)
- he prefers his food over bottles and is now starting to eat small finger foods
- he loves cheerios and Baby Mum Mums
- he cruises all over the place and is starting to stand solo
- he loves stuffed animals, balls and his new soft blocks that he got for Christmas
- he only has 2 bottom teeth with no others in sight but he drools a lot
- he has to have his lovey bunny and blanket to sleep

His laugh and smile warm my heart daily and I am so blessed to be able to stay at home with his to see him learn and grow. I also feel blessed to have a son and wouldn't have it any other way- boys are SO different from girls and it's been quite a ride so far!

Dude, I'm A Rock Star!!!

Jade took the FUNNIEST picture of Brayden fresh out of the tub with his new "do." I just had to post this. He almost looks like he's had a few of Jade's beers. Who knows what was going through his little mind... It will be one of those "mom you shouldn't have" when he gets older. His hair is getting longer so I had some fun....

Happy 2009!!

Now that I've taken a brief break from posting, I'm back!!! I cannot believe 2009 is in full swing with Emily back in school, snow flurries here and there ( enough to keep us on our toes) and keeping busy forming my resolutions for the year. I'm trying to make them practical and easy to check off my list with a couple harder ones thrown in there to spice things up! One of my friends posted some of hers and I thought I'd share some of mine with my readers!! I will update you on the rest of the fam in another posting...

My two biggest goals are:
1- to find a church that suits our family ( Lord knows this will take the ENTIRE year. HE is with me every step of the way.)
2- to run a half marathon

Some of my smaller goals are:
1- to read the book Simple Abundance daily
2- to work out for 1/2 hour a day while Emily is at school
3- to balance my check book more regularily in order to control spending and stick to the budget
4- to have a date night with my husband once a month
5- to continue to maintain a balanced, mostly organic diet which includes sticking to a 90% or more wheat free diet. ( I have an intolerance and the ONLY good thing about it is that I can control carbs more.)

There are more goals regarding our family unit and raising our children, but these are what I chose to blog about. What are your goals? Will 2009 prove to be one of prosperity and economic growth? I have high hopes!! Until next time....
