So a lot has been happening with Emily, but I did not want to forget my little red-headed sassy two year old! He's a joy to all who know him and he likes to flirt all the time! He is also growing at a rapid rate and will be 2 1/2 next month! He loves to kick the ball around outside, draw with chalk, dig in the rocks, play with trucks and make a mess! He is infatuated with Thomas the Train and Barney. He categorizes the buses we see driving. There are city buses, school buses, and home buses ( motor homes). He gets so excited when we pull out his crayons and paper and pretends to take attendance. He picked this up at school. I can't believe how well he talks using adult like phrases. He is SO special with his little voice and I love having him at work with me so I can peak in his classroom when he can't see me :)
With the new school year comes season 3 of the Pixie Chicks! I cannot believe how these girls have grown up and matured! We added 2 new players to the team, as she is now in the U8 category. We now have "keepers" and Emily has proven that her goal keeping skills are as great as her ball skills. She's an amazing player and I hope her love for soccer continues!
We started the school year off with a lot of rain!! Adjusting outfits, using raincoats, and keeping new tennis shoes clean was a chore! Emily has certainly grown up, literally! I think she grew a foot over the summer. It made buying jeans a breeze! She even got her first pair of skinny jeans. For those of you who really KNOW her, this was not something I nor she would typically buy. Guess times are a changin'! So grown up! YIKES!
Brayden with our friend Ms. Jeannie from KinderCare opening gifts decorating cupcakes Wow! How time flies. Emily celebrated her birthday at a local park with a few of her good friends. We made beaded necklaces and bracelets, decorated cupcakes, ate some munchies and best of all played on the FREE playground! The weather was cool and sunny and the kids had a blast! It was a great way to spend her special day!
Over the Summer Emily attended KinderCare's camp for school age children. It provided structure, weekly themes, fun activities and field trips. They had a western week so Emily got all dressed up! I thought it was the cutest, so I had to make it a photo op!
We had an impromptu gathering at the Miller's house to light some fireworks, roast marshmallows and gather for some drinks and socialization with the neighbors. It was so fun and best of all, Brayden slept through ALL of it!!
Yikes! I haven't blogged since the end of the school year!! Okay, time to do some SERIOUS updating!! Our summer came and went in a flash! I went back to work full time for a few months while Emily was out of school. Needless to say this and other things got neglected. We managed to have a Holsan family vacation at the beginning of the summer to Seaside, Oregon. The weather was cool and drizzly but we managed to have some fun. Jade's parents, his sister Holli, and his sister Nikki and her family joined us on the coast. We rented a beachhouse that provided plenty of room ( with 3 levels) for all of us to gather. Here are a few pics from the trip!
Grammy Linda entertaining the children while I got the house in order and cars packed! Brayden and I huddled together on the beach- it was FREEZING! A picture of all the grandkids: Brayden 2, Dane 3 1/2, Emily 6 1/2, Addie 9, Jada 13 Emily and Addie playing fooseball in their PJ's. This became a favorite!!
I cannot believe 1st grade has come and gone so quickly! My little girl isn't so little anymore! Gotta love all those new teeth! This year has been full of growth for her including becoming a very fluent reader (loving her chapter books), a conventional speller, and finding a new love for math! We feel so blessed that Emily experienced having a male teacher. It brought such a different perspective to her learning and great classmates made for a wonderful year! She's already gotten her first call from a boy! UGH. Before we know it 2nd grade will be fast approaching!
Where has the time gone? My baby turned 2 this past Wednesday and I wondered all day where the past 2 years have gone. They grow up SO fast. He is now speaking in 3 to 4 word phrases and is very demanding and opinionated about EVERYTHING! He just transitioned to the two's room at school, drinking from a cup without a lid in class, and NO binkie during nap time! We have yet to follow these transitions at home but we are getting there. He lights up everyone's day with his smile and he says hello to each teacher that passes by. Such a handsome little man! Here are a few pictures from this special day...
April is just flying by! Jade's parents took their new 5th wheel and ventured from Wyoming to see us for Easter. It was very fun to have the Holsan grandparents here to help us celebrate. Here are a few pics from Easter and our visit to see their RV. In case you were wondering, Brayden was not feeling great, thus no picture of both kids together. We do what we can!
Here are a couple of pics of the kids. One was taken mid March and the other during spring break. On the last day of Spring Break Camp at Kindercare, the kids had a garden party so Emily got all dressed up and I had lunch with her at school. They even made pumpkin soup and zuchini bread in class. She was really excited to have me attend. It was a really fun "Muddy Green Thumbs" week for her.
Wow have I been behind on blogging lately! Spring has sprung and we are busier than ever! One of my favorite times of year is when our plum tree blossoms in the backyard. This picture was taken in early March. It reminds me that April is around the corner which means grandparent visits, Easter and a ton of April birthdays!
Recently I got my creative juices flowing, thanks Joanne Fabrics, and painted Brayden's name and painted some stars and airplanes to match his bedding. Man, oh, man! What a lot of work but it turned out SO cute and I'm proud of myself for trying something new! We just hung it on his wall and Brayden says "letters!" What fun!
Hi all! Happy Valentine's Day! Last night Jade and I celebrated our 11 plus years! We ate at the Black Stone American Grill and went and saw "Valentine's Day." Both the restaurant and movie were excellent and it was fun to get out! Here are a few pics I took yesterday...
Brayden 22 months My Little Lady at 6 1/2 and toothless!
It was quite a year! Since I did not manage to send out cards this year,or I guess now it's LAST year, and I'm WAY behind on my postings, I decided to do this blog style. So, here it goes...
Jade continues to work for Lifeport, Inc. in the interiors devision, designing interiors for private aircraft. He enjoys working in the aviation field and has had a lot of out of town trips as well. The jury is still out on that one.....
I went back to work part time in September to Kindercare where I worked before Brayden was born. I now teach the Learning Adventures classes or tutorials as we like to call it for 2 1/2 through 5 year olds in phonics, math, spanish, reading, music and soon cooking. I have a full load right now and constantly find creative ways to manage my time! Brayden is in the wobblers/toddlers room right outside my area so it's been an interesting adventure for both of us! I love having him me and I love what I do!
Brayden is now 21 months and his smile can light up a room anywhere he goes. His vocabulary is picking up nicely with phrases now and then and he is quite humorous in this toddler ways...
Emily, now 6 and in 1st grade, is sure turning out to be quite the young lady! She got her ears pierced for her 6th birthday and has lost 6 teeth. She is doing so well in school and loves having a male teacher this year. Her reading and writing have improved SO much over such a short period of time and her comprehension constantly amazes us!
We want to wish everyone a happy 2010 and may each of you be blessed with love, joy and peace! The Holsan's
Yes, I know it's almost the end of January and I'm now getting around to posting x-mas pictures! I tried to do a slide show but for some reason it won't work so I'll just post a lot of pictures by themselves. We had a great, quiet x-mas filled with lots of fun opening gifts! They had a lot of fun the day after playing with all their stuff and it even snowed some during the holidays! Enjoy!
Jade and I have been married for over 12 years and have two beautiful read headed children. We are living in the Pacific Northwest and enjoy all that it has to offer and embracing each day to the fullest!
